Another tough day at the Tribune. The photo department lost 35-year veteran Paul Fraughton, one of the nicest guys I’ve ever worked with. To top off his career, it’s his photograph that illustrated the story of his own departure on the Tribune’s website. I’m definitely going to miss scenes like this one that took place in the Tribune Photo Fort after today’s wave of sad news…

In the Sept. 7 issue, what poor taste to have splashed on the front page the picture of a 6-year-old boy at his father’s funeral. Poor kid. The privacy of a minor deserved more respect than this.
